Musings
Its a cycle
You happened to be my March rain
that for sure was not an ordain
It was indeed amain
became hard for me to abstain
Indeed like providence again
felt good to be just plain
I’ve learnt to fain
even with all my humanly constrain
Only obvious you had to disdain
for it would cause some distain
I’m used to pain
whats happening is not in vain
Hate to be that blain
only fair you had to complain
Be sure to be ascertain
It definitely is not in lain

Trading Cards a test post
Trading Cards aren’t new but when anything comes out of the Monkey Master’s Tree House – ThinkGeek you almost know what’s in store for you.
Just in case if we’re wondering, ThinkGeek has flashed first set of 8 cards of the 56 collectible Geek Trading Cards all of them illustrated by famed artist Len Peralta.
It seems, Len Peralta has been interviewing one geek hero a week for last 52 weeks and has also been posting podcasts of the discussions online that he used for designing the front and back of the trading cards.
Joins him are the comedic music duo Paul and Storm to write the descriptions in their own wacky geeky way!
All these geeks are leaders in their respective industries: Art, Movies, Music, Computers, Science.
The first set comes with the following geeks personified by Len Peralta:
- Jonathan Coulton
- Fred Seibert
- Veronica Belmont
- John Scalzi
- Rifftrax
- Bonnie Burton
- MC Frontalot
- Ken Plume
Clearly, the fun of geekdom has just begun with the first set, wait for the rest of the 48 cards to get flashed in the weeks to come!
Revival
Its been a while since I actively blogged, more to do with active engagement in twitter.
I’m not sure if theres going to be a lot here, but guess what ever gets clicked and published on flickr can go here too.
So thats about it.
More to come in the form of PhotoBlog. Very little words if at all.
Cheers!
Making a difference
Recently someone had to ask me how they made any difference in my life…
I for a moment started thinking, but then something flashed in my mind…
A small story for that I once read, may be you have read it already sometime…
Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf’s edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.
The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.
As he came up to the person he said, “You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can’t possibly make a difference.” The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said, “It sure made a difference to that one!”
Story ends there…and here is my thought around it…
Scorpion & Frog Story
Here is something I recently got to read…
Have you heard the story of the scorpion and the frog?
A scorpion wanted to cross the stream, but since he did not know how to swim, he went over to the frog and said “Why don’t you let me ride on your back. I can’t swim!”
“I can’t possibly let you do that!” said the frog. “You are a scorpion. You will sting me!”
“Oh, you stupid frog!” said the scorpion. ‘I wouldn’t possibly do that. Because if I did that, we would both drown!”
Sensing the logic on that one, and seeing an opportunity to win bragging rights for having helped a scorpion across the water, the frog agreed to take the scorpion on his back.
And when they were in the middle of the stream, the scorpion stung the frog.
“Why did you do that?” asked the frog, shocked, and quickly going down in the water.
“Because I am a scorpion! I sting…its my nature” came the reply, as both the frog and the scorpion drowned.
Iterate, Reiterate
I was recently quizzed by one of few who happens to proclaim me as their mentor.
He has recently been promoted and now handles a whole lot of people who aren’t entry level and been there in the organization for a while and he seemed to have gotten tired already of repeating instructions to folks and more with the frequency.
Here is what came to my mind:
Energy
Do you feel me? When I’m around and when I’m not around.
Its told that the unspoken words are precious, but I feel being felt when not around is far more precious and invaluable.
Now that brings these questions, whats the feeling like? What kind of energy do you emit? How are you being felt?
I would like to know just as curious as I’m as always, what’s my significance? whats the measurement?
Or am I looking for something that I shouldnt be looking for, too silly?
As usual in search of lucidity in my deluded, distant, far fetched, never ending, piped dreams.
Columbus Stockade Lyrics
This makes it topical…Thanks to Gussie…
Columbus Stockade Lyrics
Way down in Columbus Georgia
Lord I wish I was back in Tennessee
Way down in that old Columbus Stockade
My friends all have turned their back on me.
Go and leave me if you wish to
Never let me cross your mind
In your heart you love another
Leave me, little darling, I don’t mind
Many a night with you I’ve rambled
Honey, countless hours with you I’ve spent
Thought I had your sweet love and your little heart forever
But I find it was only lent.
Go and leave me if you wish to
Never let me cross your mind
If in your heart you love another
Leave me, little darling, I don’t mind
Last night as I lay sleeping
Oh, I dreamd that I was you in my arms
When I woke I was mistaken
Lord, I was still behind these bars
Go and leave me if you wish to
Never let me cross your mind
If in your heart you love another
Leave me, little darling, I don’t mind
Lord, I’ve got the walking blues
